About Angie

She is pursuing a career in writing while taking care of their little family. Rollo and her love to go on walks, visit the parks and explore the beautiful scenery Cape Town has to offer. As a family, they love to visit small towns, meet the fascinating locals and sit down for a great lunch or dinner.

As an aspiring author, she loves to write and as a soon-to-be copy editor, she enjoys a wide variety of topics to sharpen her general knowledge. Reading has always been her favourite pastime and books such as Gone Girl, Under the Dome and Girl on the Train are some of her favourites.

She has a diploma in Law, but soon realised that she enjoyed the fiction of it more than applying it in real life. This is where crime and investigation caught her interest in TV series such as The Blacklist, Suits and Hanibal and various crime documentaries.

Books

She loves getting lost in a good book, anything from psychological thrillers to romance.

Writing

She is an aspiring author and currently in the process of writing her first novel, a thriller called The Farm.

Editing

Copy-editing is a way to enrich and bring my own writing to life. This is a valuable skill to poses as an author, blogger, etc. It also provides me with the necessary skills to edit copy from novels to academia.

Animals

Since she can remember, animals has always been very dear to her. Her mother used to say that a house without a pet, isn’t a home and she agrees. She has a 10-year-old rescue cat named Jester and an 11-month old chocolate Labrador named Rollo (Ragnar’s brother in Vikings – not the chocolate Rolo).

Marriage

Her marriage is very important to her, and she is a firm believer that giving 50/50 is just plain lazy. Each marriage requires both spouses to give it their all, realistically of course.

Camping

She enjoys camping more than hotel rooms. Coastal towns or bushveld, she is eager to spend a night at the campfire listening to the creatures of the night.

Local Travel

She gravitates to exploring small charming towns bursting with history and time-old customs. Wildlife rehabilitation centres, sanctuaries and national parks are of great interest to her. Not to keen on Zoos if the only gain is profit.

Music

Her taste in music mostly revolves around alternative rock but she must admit that it certainly does not stop there. A good song is a good song, no matter the genre or artist.
