About Deborah

She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, mainly the marketing and administrative aspects of this field. Her experience ranged from working as a consultant for various financial service providers, working as an office manager for an independent financial advisor and being a regional admin manager for a private investment house.

She has a diploma in game ranging and lodge management and is a bootcamp instructor. More recently she has stepped away from the corporate world.

Her husband and herself ran a cattle farm in south Africa for 2 years while raising broiler chickens, growing their own vegetables and medicinal herbs and started a natural skincare range. They moved their pursuits to the arid Karoo where they continued to grow their own food hydroponically while running a guest house.

Most recently they assisted with the development of a lodge on Idjwi Island in lake Kivu in the DRC. It allowed them to put into practice all their knowledge of growing food and medicine, bee keeping, animal husbandry, seed saving, learning about installing their own solar power, lodge management and catering.
