Denise is the analytical-creative type who loves being outdoors.
She is an entrepreneur, a designer, a lazy perfectionist, and a dog mom!
Her hobbies are diverse, and her vast general knowledge earns her the “Know-It-All” badge,
but she is always interested in learning something new!
Passions
About Denise
True to the South African way, Denise constantly finds new things to keep busy with and laughs while doing it. If she is not doing something artsy or entertaining friends, then she is probably busy with a bit of photography with her two Staffordshire Bull terriers in tow. All while something delicious is in the oven baking!
Her parents emigrated to South Africa from Rhodesia in the early ’80s, and she has inherited her Rhodie resourcefulness and creativity from watching them forge a new life in South Africa. Camping and fishing are part of the way of life in both South Africa and Zimbabwe and are integral to Denise’s family life.
Denise is married to her high school sweetheart, and he keeps her grounded and motivated to keep fuelling her soul fire. They are a couple who believe that their keys to navigating growing up and old together are; open communication, trust, and honoring each other. Together they enjoy watching as many live rock shows as possible, hiking, home renovation, and genuinely enjoying each other’s company.
Denise has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a will to match. She has recently left the corporate world determined to grow what started as a side hustle into something that will create freedom for her family and help others along the way too. She has career experience in beauty therapy, teaching, sports coaching, jewelry design, and leather goods. Denise has gathered a grand spectrum of knowledge while working in such varying fields, and she has the memory of an elephant!
Denise holds a BTech degree in Jewellery Design and has 13 years of experience in the industry. Her ability to design technically sound and aesthetically pleasing jewelry has awarded her a couple of podium finishes and many special mentions in competitions over the years. She ended her corporate journey as a CAD Manager, where she thrived on coaching her team and driving the department’s success.
All of these interests and experiences have led to Denise having some scope on the multiple facets of life.
