Susan is a typical Cancer who cares deeply about the happiness
and wellbeing of all humans and animals close to her heart.
She currently lives in the Western Cape with her husband, two children,
and a dog called Maya.
Her career kicked off in the Forensic Division of one of the Big Four accounting organizations in the world. It was here where she developed an intense love and interest for correcting other people’s grammar and spelling, which subsequently led to the completion of a Copy-editing qualification.
Prior to becoming a blog writer, Susan spent the past seven years as an online tutor where she reviewed essays and guided mainly American tertiary students to become better writers.
Whether it’s the fresh smell of a new book, or the smoky and woody smell of an old one, she is equally addicted to both as, “Nothing compares to that moment when you connect with a scene or character and get transferred to another world far from here.”
There are always two books on her bedside table as she would get quite anxious with the prospect of running out of reading material. She’s an avid reader of thriller and suspense novels, so it comes as no surprise that two of her favorite writers are James Patterson and David Baldacci.
She is an animal fanatic especially when it comes to one of the loves of her life: her Staffordshire Bullterrier, Maya. Maya is a self-proclaimed two-year-old brat that constantly keeps the family entertained and active. She even has her own Instagram account – run by Susan off course.
With her husband by her side and a good book in her suitcase, she loves travelling the world exploring new and revisiting familiar countries.
She is forever enthralled by the chaotic streets, exotic foods, foreign languages, and interesting cultures of overseas destinations.
Playing the Piano
She has made several attempts to date in trying to master playing the piano. The words of Johann Sebastian Bach constantly motivate her to keep on practicing: “There’s nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.”

“Was my Dachshund too skinny?” is a question that keeps on haunting me ever since I was the owner of an adorable Dachshund a few years ago. I showered him with love and gave him the best dog food money could buy, but unexplainably, he just wouldn’t gain any weight. Throughout his tail-wagging nine years…
